Before we book
A few honest details make collection much easier
A car that starts and rolls from an open driveway is a very different job from one with seized brakes in an underground car park. Neither is necessarily a problem, but we need to know what we are turning up to.
Photos are useful when a vehicle is damaged, incomplete or parked in a tight spot. They can save a lot of back-and-forth and help us confirm the quote before collection day.
Tell us about:
- Whether the engine starts
- Whether the vehicle rolls and steers
- Keys, locked steering and handbrake condition
- Flat tyres, missing wheels or loose parts
- Height barriers, narrow roads or permit access
- Who will be there to release the vehicle

Where we collect
Home, garage, workplace or storage yard
Most vehicles are collected from a driveway or residential road, but that is not the only option. We can also plan collections from repair garages, bodyshops, commercial yards and other suitable locations.
Homes and driveways
Tell us if another vehicle blocks access, the driveway is steep or the road is particularly tight.
Garages and bodyshops
We will need the site contact, opening times and confirmation that the vehicle can be released.
Workplaces and yards
Useful for fleet cars, vans and vehicles stored at business premises.
Car parks and awkward spots
Height restrictions, locked gates and underground access need checking before a slot is agreed.
Vehicles we collect
More than straightforward scrap cars
MOT failures
Cars that are unsafe or no longer worth repairing.
Non-runners
Engine faults, flat batteries, seized brakes and long-term parked cars.
Accident damaged
Damaged cars at homes, garages, bodyshops or recovery yards.
No keys
Often possible with the right ownership and access checks.
Salvage vehicles
Repairable or parts-value cars that may be worth more than basic scrap.
End-of-life car recycling
What happens to an end-of-life car after collection and authorised treatment.
Vans
Light commercial vehicles from homes, depots and business premises.
Electric and hybrid
Quoted and collected with the vehicle type and condition properly considered.

A proper handover, not just a tow-away
Payment is made by bank transfer after the vehicle has been checked. We will also explain the relevant DVLA step and what to do with the V5C.
If the vehicle is completely scrapped through an authorised treatment facility, a Certificate of Destruction applies to eligible vehicles. If it is handled as salvage and may be repaired or reused, the paperwork route is different.
Have these ready where possible
- Photo identification
- V5C logbook, if available
- Keys, including spare keys
- Bank details for payment
- Proof that you can dispose of the vehicle
- Private plate retention completed beforehand

Questions answered
Frequently asked questions
Is scrap car collection free?
Collection is included in accepted quotes across our covered area. Tell us about barriers, locked wheels, missing keys or difficult access before booking so the quote and collection plan are accurate.
Can you collect a car that does not start?
Yes. Non-runners are a normal part of the service. Let us know if the car rolls and steers, whether the handbrake releases and whether all four wheels are fitted.
Can you collect from a garage or bodyshop?
Yes, provided the garage or bodyshop agrees to release the vehicle and we have the correct collection details. Tell us about opening times, storage charges and who will hand over the keys.
What if the car is in a car park or behind a height barrier?
Send us the height restriction, level, bay location and access arrangements before collection. Some sites need a different plan, so it is better to check first.
Do I need the V5C logbook?
The V5C is helpful, but a missing logbook does not always stop collection. You will still need suitable identification and evidence that you are entitled to dispose of the vehicle.
When will I be paid?
Payment is made by bank transfer after the vehicle and collection details have been checked.
Will the quote change when the car is collected?
The quote is based on the details you provide. If the vehicle is materially different, important parts are missing or the access was not disclosed, the price may need to be reviewed before handover.
Do you collect throughout Hampshire and West Sussex?
Yes, across the areas listed on this page. Enter your full postcode if your town is not shown and we will confirm whether collection is available.
Ready to arrange collection?
Send us the registration and postcode and we will check the vehicle, the location and the best way to collect it.
