How it works
Scrapping your car should be simple: get a quote, book free collection, get paid by bank transfer and complete the paperwork properly.
ScrapTrak buys scrap, damaged, unwanted and non-running vehicles directly across Hampshire and West Sussex. You deal with one local team from the first quote to collection day, not a comparison site or a chain of unknown buyers.
Start here
Use your registration and collection postcode to start. If the car has no keys, no V5C, flat tyres, locked brakes, accident damage or awkward access, add that in the notes so we can plan the right collection.
No obligation. Free collection is included across covered areas. Problem vehicles are welcome.
The simple version
From quote to collection, the process is designed to be quick, clear and easy to follow.
Enter your registration and collection postcode, then tell us the honest condition of the vehicle. Details such as mileage, damage, missing parts, no keys or no V5C help us quote properly.
We confirm the vehicle, location, condition and collection access. If your car might be worth more as salvage than basic scrap, we take that into account before confirming the price.
You receive a clear ScrapTrak quote with free collection included. No broker chain, no comparison-site runaround and no hidden collection charge added later.
If you are happy with the quote, we arrange a collection slot from your driveway, workplace, garage, business premises or another safe location in our covered area.
At collection, we verify the vehicle and ownership details, pay by bank transfer and guide you through the relevant DVLA paperwork steps.
Keep your receipt, bank transfer record, DVLA confirmation and Certificate of Destruction where applicable. That paper trail protects you after the vehicle leaves.
Before you start
The more accurate the details, the smoother the collection. You do not need to know every technical detail, but it helps to tell us anything that affects the vehicle’s value or how it can be recovered.
A complete car with keys and easy driveway access is different to a car with missing wheels, no keys and locked steering. We can still help with difficult vehicles — we just need to know what we’re collecting.
After the quote
We check the registration, model, fuel type and your description of the condition so the quote matches what is actually being collected.
We’ll ask where the vehicle is parked and whether there are any recovery issues, such as tight access, no keys, locked brakes or a car park height restriction.
Once the quote is accepted, we arrange a collection time that works for you and our local collection route.
We’ll let you know what documents, ID, keys and bank details are needed before the driver arrives.
Collection day
On collection day, our team checks that the car matches the quote details, confirms the handover information and prepares the vehicle for safe loading. If the car is a non-runner, has no MOT, has accident damage or cannot be driven, that is fine — just make sure those details were included when you requested the quote.
We can collect from residential roads, driveways, garages, workplaces, trade premises and safe roadside locations. If the vehicle is blocked in, parked in a multi-storey, has no wheels or has locked steering, tell us before collection so we can plan correctly.
Payment & paperwork
We keep the final part of the process clear and traceable. Payment is made by bank transfer on collection after vehicle and ownership checks.

Problem cars welcome
Many vehicles we collect are not simple, roadworthy cars. Tell us the issue upfront and we’ll let you know what is possible.
Failed MOT and repair costs higher than the car is worth.
Engine faults, flat batteries, gearbox issues and cars that will not start.
Crash damaged vehicles, bodywork damage and insurance write-offs.
Vehicles without keys, subject to ownership checks and safe recovery access.
Missing logbook? We’ll explain what details may be needed.
Garages, car parks, narrow roads and tricky vehicle positions.
Some vehicles may be worth more as salvage than basic scrap.
Light commercial vehicles, old work vans and damaged vans collected locally.

FAQs
Start by sending your registration, postcode and vehicle condition through the quote form. We confirm the details, give you a local quote, arrange free collection, pay by bank transfer on collection and guide you through the relevant DVLA paperwork.
We usually need the vehicle registration, collection postcode, vehicle condition, whether it starts or moves, whether you have keys and the V5C, and whether there are any access issues or missing parts.
Yes. Collection is included across our covered areas in Hampshire and West Sussex. If the vehicle has unusual access issues, tell us before collection so we can plan correctly.
Payment is made by bank transfer on collection after the vehicle and ownership details have been checked.
It is usually best if you or an authorised person is available. We need to verify the vehicle, complete the handover and confirm payment details. If you cannot be there, speak to us before collection.
Yes. We collect non-runners, MOT failures and vehicles that cannot be driven. Let us know if the car has no keys, locked steering, seized brakes, flat tyres or difficult access.
A V5C is helpful, but it may not always be essential. We’ll explain what information and proof of ownership may be needed if the logbook is missing.
We aim to keep quotes clear and accurate. The price depends on the information you provide. If major details are wrong, such as missing parts, no keys, severe undisclosed damage or a different vehicle condition, the quote may need to be reviewed before collection.
We guide you through the relevant DVLA steps. The registered keeper is responsible for notifying DVLA when a vehicle is transferred, scrapped or sold, and we’ll help you understand what to do.
A Certificate of Destruction is issued where applicable through the correct authorised process once a qualifying vehicle is destroyed. Some vehicles may be handled as salvage rather than immediate destruction, so we’ll explain what applies to your vehicle.
