Start with the main scrap car page, get a quote, then arrange collection from your home, work or a safe location.

If there is a paperwork issue

Read the documents guide first, especially if the V5C is missing, the car is not in your name or you want to understand DVLA steps.

If collection might be awkward

Use the non-runner and access guides before booking. They help us plan the right recovery setup and avoid delays.

FAQs

Guide hub FAQs

Which guide should I read first?

If your vehicle is straightforward, start with the Scrap My Car page or How It Works page. If there is a paperwork issue, read the documents guide and no V5C guide first.

Can I get a quote before reading the guides?

Yes. You can enter your registration and postcode at any time. If there are special details such as no keys, flat tyres, no V5C or difficult access, add them to the form notes.

Do the guides apply to vans and electric vehicles?

Some guides apply to most vehicles, but vans, electric cars and hybrids can need extra checks. Use the dedicated van and EV/hybrid pages if your vehicle falls into those categories.

Can you help if I do not have the V5C logbook?

Yes. A V5C is helpful, but not always essential. Read the no V5C guide and tell us at quote stage so we can explain what checks and evidence may be needed.

Are these guides for Hampshire and West Sussex drivers?

They are written for ScrapTrak customers across Hampshire and West Sussex, but much of the paperwork and collection advice is useful for anyone preparing to scrap a vehicle properly.
