What changes when the keys are missing?
Most of the process is the same: quote, collection, payment and paperwork. The difference is the recovery side. Without keys, the vehicle might not go into neutral, the steering may be locked, or the doors may be shut with no easy access.
If it is unlocked
This is usually easier. We can check the inside, confirm the situation and see whether the car can be moved safely.
If it is locked
It may still be possible, but we will need to talk through the access. In some cases, getting it opened first can make collection simpler.

Keeping it proper

Have a private plate?
If there is a private registration number on the car and you want to keep it, sort that before the vehicle is scrapped or sold on. It is much easier to deal with before collection.

Does having no keys reduce the scrap price?
Sometimes, but not always. The vehicle still has value, but missing keys can affect the collection cost if the car is locked, awkward to move or stuck somewhere difficult.
The main value still comes from the car itself: the make and model, weight, completeness, catalytic converter, alloy wheels, battery, condition and whether it has salvage value beyond basic scrap.

Payment is made by bank transfer, not cash. If the vehicle is completely scrapped through the authorised treatment facility route, a Certificate of Destruction may be issued where applicable.
