Nissan Juke Scrap Car Collection in SO15 Southampton
A red Nissan Juke that would not run, a faulty gearbox and a collection that had not happened. That was the situation for one customer in SO15 Southampton before they contacted ScrapTrak. We collected the car, and the photograph on this page shows the Juke on our recovery truck.

It is a straightforward example of the work behind a scrap car enquiry: understanding what is wrong with the vehicle and arranging a collection that suits its condition. If you are in a similar position, our Southampton scrap car collection page is the place to start.
The Nissan Juke collection in SO15
The customer contacted us after an earlier collection arrangement with another firm did not go ahead. Their Nissan Juke was not running and had a faulty gearbox. They needed the vehicle collected rather than another journey to a buyer or a repair garage.
We collected the red Juke from SO15 Southampton. The photograph shows the car secured on our recovery truck. When your car will not run and a collection has fallen through, you need a clear next step. For this customer, that was getting in touch with us and having the Juke collected.
- Vehicle: Nissan Juke.
- Collection area: SO15, Southampton.
- Reported condition: non-running, with a faulty gearbox.
- Outcome: collected by ScrapTrak.
If your own Nissan cannot be driven, you can still ask us for a collection quote. Tell us what is wrong and where it is parked so we can assess the job. Our Scrap My Nissan guide explains what to include in your enquiry.
Does a faulty gearbox mean you cannot sell a car?
You can ask for a quote without repairing the gearbox first. Be clear about the fault and what you know about it. There is a difference between a garage-confirmed gearbox problem, a car that will not select a gear, and a vehicle that simply will not move. Describe your own car accurately instead of trying to give it a diagnosis for the enquiry.
If a garage has already inspected it, the written findings can help explain its condition. You do not need to make up a repair cost or tell us which internal component has failed. Equally, do not assume that the gearbox type or fault on another Juke must be the same as yours.
It can also help to compare a written repair estimate with a collection offer before deciding what to do. Include other work the vehicle needs in your thinking. A car with one repair outstanding is a different decision from a car facing several repairs, an MOT issue and storage costs.
For a non-runner, tell us whether it can be moved
“It does not run” is a useful start, but the collection team also needs to understand its position and any known movement restrictions. A vehicle can fail to start while still having freely moving wheels, or it can have a separate problem with its steering, brakes or tyres.
For your enquiry, tell us whether the keys are available, whether all the wheels are fitted and whether anyone has already confirmed that it rolls. Mention any known difficulty selecting neutral or releasing the parking brake. If you do not know, say so; there is no need to test it or force a control.
Leave loading and recovery methods to the team. Our non-runner collection information covers the details that help us assess a car which cannot be driven.
Planning scrap car collection in Southampton
A postcode helps us locate the job, but it does not show the space around the car. Whether you are in SO15 or elsewhere in Southampton, explain whether your vehicle is on a driveway, on a street, at a workshop or in a car park.
Tell us about any gates, height barriers, slopes or vehicles blocking the approach. If parking is controlled, explain the arrangements before a visit is agreed. For a workshop collection, confirm who can release the vehicle and whether any outstanding garage arrangements need to be settled.
A safely taken photo of the car and its surroundings can help communicate the layout. Add written details too, especially anything a photograph cannot establish, such as a wheel that is known to be stuck. Our local Southampton collection guide brings together the area information and quote route.
Keep the paperwork part of the plan
Collection is one part of handing over an unwanted car. Confirm who is receiving the vehicle, keep the handover details and follow the correct DVLA notification process. Having the details together makes it easier to complete the paperwork and keep your records straight.
If a car is being destroyed, it must go through an authorised treatment facility. A Certificate of Destruction applies when an eligible vehicle is completely scrapped, not when it is repaired and resold. The GOV.UK scrapping guide explains that distinction.
Have a Nissan you need collected?
You do not need a running car to begin a conversation with us. Start with the registration and collection postcode, then explain the condition and any access issues. Tell us about a known gearbox fault, missing keys or another collection arrangement that has fallen through so we understand what you need.
