A red Peugeot 206 collected in Chichester
This red Peugeot 206 was collected by ScrapTrak in Chichester. The photographs show it on our recovery truck, with visible damage around the bonnet and front bumper, and dust on the bodywork.
Every collection starts with the car that is actually there. If yours has damaged panels or parts that need explaining, a few clear photographs and a straightforward description are a useful starting point. Our Chichester scrap car collection page explains the local service, while our Scrap My Peugeot guide covers enquiries for a 206 and other Peugeot models.

Describe what you can see, without needing a diagnosis
You do not need to know the name of every damaged component to enquire about your own car. Tell us which part is affected: the bonnet, bumper, lights, doors or another area. Explain whether a panel is bent, a light is missing, or something is hanging loose. If you are unsure, say so and send a photograph.
Separate visible condition from anything a garage has confirmed. “The bonnet will not close” is useful information; guessing what might be damaged underneath can create confusion. Include a garage report if you already have one, but there is no need to dismantle the car for an enquiry.
Also mention anything that has been removed. A battery, wheel or other component stored separately should be identified, with confirmation of whether it is included. Tell us if the car changes after you receive an offer so we can reassess the details before collection.
Take wide views before the close-ups
For a damaged small car, close-ups are useful but do not give the whole picture. Start with a clear view of the front, rear and each side, taken from a safe position. Then photograph the affected area in more detail. Include the surrounding parking space where it helps explain access.
- Keep enough of the car in view to show where the damage is.
- Show loose or separately stored parts without handling sharp edges.
- Include an image of an obstructed wheel or flat tyre if relevant.
- Avoid including people, personal paperwork or unrelated vehicle details where possible.
A photograph cannot answer every collection question. Tell us whether the car starts, moves, rolls and steers if you already know. If its condition is uncertain, explain that instead of trying to start it or force it to move. Leave any inspection beneath the car or handling of unstable parts to someone qualified.
A small car still needs a clear collection plan
A compact Peugeot can fit into a space that is difficult for a recovery vehicle to reach. Give us the collection postcode and describe the approach: a narrow driveway, garage entrance, height barrier or tight turn can affect the arrangements.
Tell us about locked gates, other vehicles in the way and any restrictions imposed by a workshop or storage site. If keys are missing or the wheels cannot turn, mention that early. Do not push a damaged car onto the road just to make it easier to reach; discuss its current position with the collection team.
Make the handover straightforward
Before your collection, remove belongings from the cabin and boot wherever it is safe to do so. Check the glovebox, door pockets and spaces around the seats for documents, permits and small items. Have the keys and V5C log book ready if available, and flag missing documents beforehand.
Agree which loose parts are included and where they are stored. Keep a record of the handover, including who received the vehicle. If someone else is arranging access, make sure they understand those details too.
You must tell DVLA when you sell or transfer your vehicle. The official DVLA guidance explains how to do this and the written notification route if you do not have the V5C. Do not assume that handing over the keys completes that step.
Enquire about your Peugeot in Chichester
If you have a Peugeot 206 or another unwanted car to move on, request a scrap car quote with its registration and collection postcode. Add the condition details you know and explain any access restrictions.
Our guide to how ScrapTrak works takes you through the process. You do not need a polished description: clear information about the car, its parts and where it is parked gives us a practical starting point for your enquiry.
