How we arrive at a price

Baseline value follows vehicle weight because metal is what’s recovered. Markets move that number. If your car has reusable parts — strong engine/gearbox, intact catalyst, clean alloys — the offer can beat bare scrap value. Missing wheels or a removed catalyst will reduce the figure. We keep that transparent.

We also capture access details (narrow lanes, low car parks, locked wheels) so we send the right truck and get it done first visit.

What you’ll need

• Photo ID and proof of address (to meet scrap metal regulations).
• V5C logbook if you have it. No V5C? You can still proceed — bring ID, proof of ownership and notify DVLA yourself.
• Keys and access notes (flat battery, limited height, narrow lanes, locked wheels, etc.).
• Tell us if the catalyst or wheels are missing so we can set expectations.

Legal basics

• End-of-life vehicles must be processed at an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF). You’ll receive a Certificate of Destruction.
